By the time all of you read this, I will be in open ocean headed west. That's as much as you get to know unfortunately. I will continue to update the blog as I'm gone, as will Alicia. And I promise it won't all be about the deployment.

I have already expressed some hopes and desires for this deployment, as well as a prayer request or two in this blog entry. As the deployment relates to Samantha's illness, I would just add that I would like you to pray for her health. While in my mind, a hospitalization for Sam would equal emergency leave, there is no guarantee that my ship would be able to let me go. For that reason alone, I pray (and ask you to join me) that Sam's health continues to hold up like it has done for so long.

Thank you for your comments and for your readership! We value you very much and can't wait to add a few more tomorrows with you!

Keeping you in my prayers. I can only imagine how tough a deployment is on you, Alica & the kids, but I thank you for your service to our country. It is because of the brave people in this world we have one of the most valuable things ever...freedom. Thank you for that, and thank you for fighting with me and other CF'ers to add more tomorrows to their day.

On another note, thank you for all you do for our families also.
