New Zealand Girl Finishes Historic Walk

I'm not going to lie about it...this story has impressed me since day one. Someday I am going to incorporate one of my deployments into a CF charity fundraiser, but even then it won't be as cool as being the youngest person to cross a country! Radio New Zealand reports that "Emma Daken, who set out from Cape Reinga on 1 November to help raise funds for cystic fibrosis research, arrived at Stirling Point, Bluff on Friday afternoon."

The Dominion Post of New Zealand states that, "Miss Daken hit the bottom of the South Island just after 2pm today having battled a virus, shin splints, blisters, a sore back, gone through four pairs of shoes - and two iPods. 'They don't like water very much obviously,' she said."

This girl has gone through a lot for those who suffer from CF. Well done and congratulations on your feat of becoming the youngest person to ever walk the length of New Zealand!
